About Meliora Health Services

Founded in 2023 by Dr. Erin Torres, Meliora Health Services is a Maryland-based practice whose mission is to support and serve individuals in the local community as well as surrounding areas.

Providing:

Comprehensive Psychiatric Diagnostic Evaluation
- At the first appointment we will discuss current symptoms you are experiencing as well as previous difficulties. Current and previous medication management will also be talked about. We will also discuss you and your family’s medical and psychiatric history. We will make goals for treatment as well as discuss other resources to help you along your journey.
Psychiatric Medication Management
- This includes initiation, monitoring and discontinuation of psychiatric medications. Any side effects or undesired effects of medications will closely be monitored. Medications can be useful in relieving the symptoms of many psychiatric symptoms but need to be taken as prescribed and monitored regularly.
Motivational interviewing and brief CBT techniques are integrated into each appointment.
- Appointments can be made in person or through a secure telehealth platform. In person appointments are encouraged for the initial appointment and at various times throughout treatment to monitor vital signs.

Policies

If no appointments are available, please email and additional dates/times will be opened.
We will follow the MCPS closings. If the office is closed, telehealth appointments will be available.
In-person appointments will be mandatory at least once a year for vital sign checks.
Refills must be requested through the patient portal and will be refilled within 48 hours.

Accepting clients who are covered by insurance and/or would prefer to pay out-of-pocket (self pay).

About Dr. Torres

Dr. Erin Torres, DNP, MSN, PMHNP-BC is a Family Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner who completed her Doctor of Nursing Practice degree at the University of Cincinnati in August 2022. She has been a practicing NP since graduating with her Master of Science in Nursing from the University of Maryland, Baltimore in May of 2014 with honor’s. She was inducted into Sigma Theta Tau nursing honors society both as an undergraduate and graduate nurse. Dr. Torres has been a registered nurse since graduating with a Bachelor of Science degree in nursing from Hampton University in 2002.

In her over 20 years of nursing experience, her emphasis has been psychiatric nursing, specifically working in settings including emergency care, inpatient, residential and most recently in research (working with children with an extra sex chromosome). Dr. Torres practices treating individuals holistically and advising and encouraging her clients to reach their greatest potential. Dr. Torres specialized in treating children and adolescents with attention deficit hyperactivity disorder (ADHD), depression and anxiety. She also treats young adults and adults, as well as multiple diverse backgrounds.

As a native of Maryland, Dr. Torres aims to support and serve individuals in her community as well as surrounding areas.

In her free time, Dr. Torres enjoys spending time with her family and friends, watching sports, cooking and dancing.
